Branches Reaching Up to the Sky
At a school in Vienna, blind and visually impaired children and teenagers learn through hearing and touch. With a particular attention to sound, Katharina Copony explores their world and transforms the film into a space of sensory experience. Whether writing, composing poetry, or playing soccer, or as they make their way through the school and public spaces, sounds, music, rhythms, and textures move to the centre of our perception. A film about connections: between image and sound, between absence and presence, between the self, community, and the world.
